RTI Movement, EPG condole activist Syed Nasrullah’s demise

Srinagar Aug 25: Syed Nasarullah Shah, retired Administrative Officer J&K Judicial Services, who has been the founder member and trustee of Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement and a noted trade union leader, breathed his last at SKIMS Soura Srinagar on Thursday August 25 after a brief illness.

Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement and Environmental Policy Group (EPG), Kashmir has condoled the demise.

“Nasrallah sahab was an EPG Mentor, guide , co-founder, a legal eagle, Chairman EPG Legal Committee, a renowned, fearless and courageous trade union leader, a pioneering RTI Activist, a powerful orator , a crusader for social issues , and a reliable friend”, Faiz Bakshi, EPG convenor said in a statement.

Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement and its members have also condoled Mr Nasrullah’s demise.

“Death of Syed Nasarullah is very much shocking for us. He was not only a legal expert but a multifaceted person and great orator. His death has left a great void which is difficult to be filled. We have lost a tireless activist , a sane voice and an RTI warrior who would give legal advice to people free of cost and was always available for public cause”, Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement said in a statement.

“Syed Nasarullah was also closely associated with Environmental Policy Group (EPG) & was the Chairman of J&K Peoples Forum which has filed several Public Interest Litigations PILs in J&K High Court”, said Dr Raja Muzaffar Chairman Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement.
